An estimated 5,000 participants taking to the streets of Prague in support of the right to life on Saturday. The demonstrators held up banners reading Children Bring Hope and Scrap the abortion law. The march was attended among others by Cardinal Dominik Duka and a number of Roman Catholic priests.
The March for Life gained the support of political, religious and public life personalities and several Czech and foreign organizations.
The aim of the march is to draw attention to the continuing injustice that is being perpetrated on more than 20,000 children who are killed annually by abortion.
As the demonstrators made their way through Prague they passed several groups of activists who came out to voice support for the right to abortion. Police was out in force to regulate traffic and prevent skirmishes. No incidents were reported.
