The biggest outlet in the Czech Republic is opening next to Václav Havel Airport. The architecture mimics the streets of Prague’s Old Town. Prague The Style Outlets will have around 190 stores for a total of 30,000 square meters.
The arena is said to open to the public by Autumn 2017. More than 100 brand stores will offer goods at a discounted price.
The shopping arena allows further development of the area around the airport. Although the motorway exit to the shopping area is still closed, the constructions are not causing any traffic restrictions. On the contrary, D7 motorway’s two new roundabouts from last year make the traffic flow smoother and exiting for the airport and the shopping center easier. Access to public transport is currently in the process of negotiations. Current bus lines will become more frequent, but no new connections will be established. The prime mode of transportation will be by car. There will be 2300 parking spots available.
Czechs generally enjoy shopping in fashion outlets. Both the Freeport Fashion Outlet in Hatě and the Fashion Arena Outlet Center in Prague 10 are popular shopping destinations. According to Martin Kubišta, general director of The Prague Outlet, the shopping arena will become the newest addition to Europe’s premium outlet companies. “We know that with professional knowledge and the support of our partners, Prague The Style Outlets will become a major shopping destination for Prague and its surrounding regions, drawing local visitors as well as tourists,” Kubišta states.
