Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is going to visit the Czech Republic on September 5-6.

He is due to meet with Prime Minister Sobotka and President Zeman: the main topics will be European security and the migrant crisis. As Bulgaria has a common border with Turkey, the migrant crisis is a particularly sensitive issue in the country.

He added that Bulgaria might become the country through which migrants would be flowing from Turkey to Western Europe.

The Bulgarian head of state visited the Czech Republic last time in 2009 when president Georgi Parvanov arrived in Prague.
