This year the organization of the traditional Christmas fairs on the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square are in jeopardy. The fact is that the authorities did not renew the contract with the former organizer – the company Taiko.

“Give us a few more weeks, so we coped with it. I believe that we will have time to do everything and Christmas markets still will be open this year”, – said a member of the Prague City Hall, Karel Procházka.

“Of course, we understand that the preparation of Christmas markets need a lot of time and it is impossible to organize everything in a few weeks,” – he added.

The contract with the company Taiko, the magistrate noted, was not enough profitable for the city, so it was canceled.
