For the sake of security, Prague has installed concrete blocks in Old Town Square. Located at the beginning of Pařížská Street, police officers are using them as preventive measures against terrorist attacks by cars.
The City Services Company installed city blocks on the Marian wall, the Old Town Square, and the Birell Grand Prix Prague 2017 at Wenceslas square. They will also be in Jeruzalémská and Maiselova Street. “Again, this is a precautionary measure,” said Vít Hofman, spokesperson for Prague City Hall, who said that the blocks are in the streets because of terrorist attacks by cars which have been happening in Europe, such as Finland, France, England, Spain, and Germany.
The purchase of the roadblocks cost Prague several tens of thousands of crowns.
