The Book of the Year 2016 in the Czech Republic has been awarded to Daniela Hodrová, with her novel Točité věty (Spiral Sentences in English).
The jury appreciated her exceptional and powerful opera about the perspective of the author about friendship, memory and the late reflections of a man.
Daniela Hodrová , born in 1946 is a Czech writer, literary theorist and Senior researcher at the Academy of Sciences. She is specialized in Czech history, Russian and comparative Literature, post-graduating in French and Russian.
Yesterday 5th of April, she’s been awarded with the prize Magnesia Litera and a monetary prize of 200.000 CZK at the National Theatre.
