Since today, passengers in Prague will be able to pay with contactless cards directly on board of the tram.

The TRansport Company is testing this terminals on two trams of the line 22. In the next weeks, terminals accepting card with contactless chip will be installed on trams of line 18.

This way of payment is being tested right now, and is expected to widen to other lines.

As Prague Mayor said, the possibility to pay on board is nothing extraordinary, as it is already used as method of payment in a lot of countries.

Every terminal has a cost of 15.000 CZK, but for now the terminals of Mikroelektronika Company are on free test. ČSOB Bank provided the SIM Cards.
