Jamaican sprinter Usian Bolt will run the 100 flat meters next June 28 in Czech tournament Golden Spikes, said the organizers of the event.
Bolt, king of the 100 and 200 flat meters in the world, will participate in the Ostrava Golden Spikes for his 9th consecutive time, being this one of his favorite competitions.
‘Ostrava is always one of the first competitions I jot down in my calendar. It was the first international competition to which I was inviated, when I was still a junior sprinter. It is normal that at the end of my career, I come back and compete in there,’ Bolt stated.
This will be Bolt’s first appearance in Europe before the World Championship in London from August 5 to 13, which must top his prolific sport career.
In previous incursions, Bolt ran four times the 100 flat meters, three times the 200, and once the 300.
Other big names in the world of athletics will also be present in the Czech Republic, such as Olympic monarchs David Rudisha (Kenya-800 meters) and Mo Farah (United Kingdom, 5,000 and 10,000 meters).
