Prague City Hall has signed an agreement with the Chinese government to allow the transfer of Czech artist Alfons Mucha’s Slav Circle to an exhibition overseas.

The parts have signed a contract for CZK 2.7 million, and agreed for the Slav Cycle to travel around Asia and Japan.

The agreement has been strongly criticised by Mucha’s nephew, who reported that taking away the canvas cycle from its protected environment may have serious consequences on the health of paintings.
