Metro station Muzeum (green line and only to Depo Hostivař direction) will be closed for six months from July 11th until December 11th 2017.

The station will undergo a reconstruction, including new ceiling light fixtures, wall and floor tiles, as well as modern electrical equipment.

For six months, the metro train will pass through the station without stopping. In 2017 stations Palmovka, Opatov, Dejvická and Skalka will also undergo reconstruction and modernization.

The Prague metro carries around 600 million passengers a year and about 40% of people choose it as their mode of public transport in Prague. Its three lines consist of about 62 km of tracks running mostly underground and 61 stations.

The Prague metro is only about 40 years old (it was first opened in 1974) and is mostly Russian-built.
