National Museum in Prague has been undergoing renovations for more than two years. Once it is completed both of the buildings will be connected via an underground tunnel, so people can walk back and forth between the exhibitions.

The new tunnel will be beneath Vinohradská Street and in fall 2018, the first visitors will pass through the corridor. During construction, cars will go over a makeshift bridge that can hold up to 50 tonnes.

Jan Kučera, the site manager, said: “The corridor is about 80 meters long. It is excavated and is about eight meters deep. At the moment some of the perimeter walls are already finished.”
