Prague is planning to open 18 new parking zones P+R (park and ride) type.
The project is developed by the Institute of Planning and Development for the Magistrate of Prague. However, not all areas for parking belongs to the city; therefore, the Prague City Hall initially needs to negotiate with the owners of the areas.
According to the project, the new parking zones should appear in the Barrandov district, near the station Smíchov and the crematorium Motol, as well as in the areas of Slivenec, Suchdol, Troja, near the metro station Rajská zahrada and Stodůlky, Střížkov and Roztyly and Depo Hostivař, near the railway station Běchovice.
Parking zones type P+R (park and ride) are intended primarily for non-resident drivers, who leave their cars in parking lots and use public transportation.
