August promises to be bright. Literally. The city is awaiting for the ‘Prague Pride 2016‘ – one of the most numerous LGBT events in the world. The parade has been held in Prague since 2011. The move is basically aimed to promote the values of freedom, mainly in concern of sexual preferences.
Since the parade attracts a considerable amount of people and reaches impressive scope within the city, the event has always been an issue for Prague administration. As to the controversy of the eccentric carnival, the ‘Pride’ is the reason for the opposers to stand up. Therefore the event has to be under the control of security service in order to prevent mass conflicts.
Prague Pride will last for a week (8-14 August) and include multiple cultural and entertainment events across the city.
