The legendary trams Tatra T3 will have a second life in Ukraine more specifically in Kyiv and Kharkov.  All the trams will be transported from Prague depots, according to the contract of private and state partnership.

Yesterday the first five trams were sent using trucks all the way to Kiev. In the future, Ukraine will buy another 80 vehicles. Despite the age of the trams being between 31 to 34 years of service, the trams are in a good working condition.

“We sold T3 to renovate our tram stock. In their place, come a modern low-floor tram Škoda 15T ForCity” – said the representative of the DPP portal Aneta Řehková.

Prague citizens have no reason to worry:  they won’t lose one of the many symbols of the city.

The company plans to continue to use about 350 modernized T3 trams.
