Prague Zoo has been recognised as one of the top five zoos in the world by travel website TripAdvisor, in its 2017 Traveller’s Choice awards.

Coming in the top is Spain’s Loro Parque, followed by the United States’ San Diego Zoo in California, Britain’s Chester Zoo, and Singapore’s Zoo in the fourth spot. Prague’s Zoo ranks No. 5, followed by the US’ St Louis Zoo in Missouri, Austria’s Vienna Zoo, France’s ZooParc de Beauval, Spain’s Bioparc Valencia and finally, Britain’s Folly Farm.

The ranking is done according to an algorithm, which incorporates quality and quantity of evaluations during the last year. The server is visited 280 billion times each year.

Prague Zoo is the second most visited destination in the Czech Republic after Prague Castle. It offers its visitors 12 pavilions, where they can become familiar with the variety of species of the animal kingdom, the popular Indonesian Jungle, African House, Gorilla Pavilion, Feline Pavilion, Elephant Valley, Hippo Pavilion and others among them.
