The Guardian points out that Radiohead.com is a blank page. On Twitter, it appears that “@Radiohead hasn’t tweeted yet. And 12 million users like a Radiohead Facebook page with no content. Meanwhile, fans have received cards in the post from the band which say “Sing the song of sixpence that goes ‘Burn the witch’.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, this is all stoking speculation about what it means for the band’s ninth studio album. Fans had been expecting a June release. The removal of its digital presence, though, may suggest it could arrive a little sooner than expected.
The purging of the band’s digital assets may have something to do with the band’s contempt for online streaming. Though at this point, really it’s anyone’s guess as to what it all means.
