The sixth edition of Burgerfest takes place Sept. 9–10 at Výstaviště in Prague’s Holešovice district. Some 50 restaurants will have stands, and there will be cooking shows and competitions. In just half a decade, Burgerfest has become the largest event of its kind in Europe.
This edition will bring the chefs and fans of barbecue from around the World, as Emerson do Nascimento from South America, its restaurant is in the south of Brazil in Gaúcho. The next stars like Joe Barbosa from the US and Karl Heinz Drew from Germany.
Prague Burgerfest mission is to prove that the traditional American food, which is a burger, has its place in quality cuisine. The Festival aims to disprove the myths of American cuisine, culture and show that a burger is not a burnt poor quality piece of meat.
Tickets can be purchased online; these purchases automatically enter the customer into a drawing for a free barbecue grill. A two-day ticket costs 100 crowns.
The festival will be operated under the auspices of Prague 7 and the United States Embassy, with Jack Daniel’s as main sponsor.
