In the early morning hours, another smog situation was declared in Prague. According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, the cause of the smog is the high concentration of suspended particles in the air.
Prague City Hall has again asked drivers to switch to public transport until the situation improves. During the episode, experts recommend to refrain from spending time in the open air due to the increased physical burden associated with increased respiratory rate.
This recommendation applies especially to people with chronic respiratory conditions, heart disease, the elderly and small children.
This is the second smog situation declared this year. The first was announced on January 20 and was recalled on Jan. 24. Detailed current air quality information is available on the website of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.
