Prague’s Congress Center hosted an international architectural competition to find proposals for a reconstruction of their building, which looks across the Nusle valley to the city’s New Town.
The architectural competition selection process had around 76 architectural designs to choose from. The winners are the Spanish architecture office of OCA. The Spanish architects have new designs for Prague’s Congress Center including a new security system.
They will begin construction in three years. “Of course we have the money, today the Congress Center has about a billion crowns. Our very gross assumption is between 300 and 600 million crowns,” Radim Haluza, chairman of the board of directors of the KCP city community said. Currently, workers are working on repairing the original building.
