Obesity became a global concern as it took the shape of an epidemic in most developed countries. According to the latest OECD report, the obesity epidemic has slowed down in several countries since 2009.
The Czech Republic ranks as the fattest country in Europe. 28.7% of adults in the Czech Republic are considered obese. Slovenia ranks second at 27%. Furthermore, 80% of Czech children do not have enough physical activities and they spend much time with computers or watching TV, shows an international study of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The number of 15-year-old Czech boys suffering from overweight or obesity has more than doubled in the past 15 years due to the lack of sport activities and bad diet.
