U.S. President Donald Trump will formally nominate a prominent Republican as the ambassador to the Czech Republic.

The White House announced Monday evening Trump’s intention to nominate Stephen King as the U.S. envoy to the Czech Republic.

King, a businessman and Republican Party activist, is a longtime member of the Republican National Committee. He is from Janesville, Wisconsin, which is the hometown of U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. King is reportedly close toRyan and White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, who is also from Wisconsin.

The nomination will require confirmation by the U.S. Senate before being able to serve.
