In early April around 1000 US troops will be transferred from Germany to Poland, according to the headquarters of the US Army in Wiesbaden. US plans to further enhance the eastern flank of NATO.
These actions, being taken by the Pentagon embody last summer’s agreement at the summit of NATO, of an ‘enhanced Forward Presence’ which focuses efforts on strengthen the Alliance’s eastern flank, to curb Russia’s aggressive policy.
In early April, the troops will arrive in the north-eastern Polish city Orzysz along with military equipment. The official report says the route will pass through the territory of Germany and the Czech Republic. The transfer of the military in this time takes place in the framework of the NATO operation “Atlantic commitment.”
Canada will soon send troops into Latvia, Germany into Lithuania and the United Kingdom into Estonia.
