Viktoria Plzeň have been crowned Czech soccer league champions – their fourth championship success in six seasons – with a 2-0 home win against Baník Ostrava on Saturday.

The West Bohemians gave themselves an unassailable points lead on second-placed Sparta Prague with three rounds to go thanks to a 2:0 home win over Baník Ostrava on Saturday evening.

Plzeň are on a Czech top-flight record run of 16 consecutive wins (which is a new Czech league record), a sequence that started with a 2-1 defeat of Sparta on 1 November.
